What are the best kind of gutters to put on a brick house?

I have a 50 year old brick home and I am replacing the gutters. I do not know whether to go with seamless gutters, aluminum gutters, or whatever other kind of gutters there are. I do not know a lot about gutters, but I want them to be easy to clean, long-lasting and I want them not to rust or discolor. I want white gutters to match the rest of the house. I am more concerned with quality than I am with cost, so I am looking at getting a professional company to install them - with a WARRANTY! Any reasonable suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Long-lasting and quality is copper gutters. To get copper gutters you will have to contact a contractor that services the high high end of home renovation as it tends to only be used on very expensive homes.
  2. SEAMLESS ALUMINUM IS BEST... THEY USUALLY HAVE 2 SIZES RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL. DON'T GET GALVANIZED. GET PLENTY OF DOWN SPOUTS STATEGICALLY PLACED!
  3. i would say keep that 50 yr old look and put up cedar
  4. as u stated u wanted white....go with the seamless aluminum gutters....u will get 20 yrs or better out of them, its all we use and some of the houses go for over a mil so they do look good.....also think about going to 5" instead of 4".makes it easier to clean and gives a nice bold look to the house... lic. gen. contractor
